Spoofcard.Com - Spoof Your Way To Riches
Spoofcard.Com - Spoof Your Way To Riches
http://www.spoofcard.com/
If you’ve ever made or received a call using a calling card, you’ve probably noticed one of the side effects of these payment systems: instead of your number showing up on the recipient’s Caller ID screen, a number owned by the card’s issuer appears. Now a company called SpoofCard has decided to capitalize on this discrepancy by selling calling cards that are specifically designed to spoof Caller ID systems.
For about 17 cents a minute, SpoofCard lets you send any numeric string as your Caller ID code. The service goes even further, providing realtime voice-changing capabilities and call recording. Although SpoofCard’s Privacy Policy specifies that the service shouldn’t be used for illegal activities and that the company reserves the right to hand over your personal info if they’re subpoenaed, we won’t be surprised to see this shut down soon. In the meantime, here’s your chance to really confuse those wiretappers.

DecalGirl Wii Robo-B Skin Review
6 Kasım 2007 SalıI have a white Nintendo Wii set (Jap version) and it looks pretty crappy now after a month of Wii Sports and Ratatouille. There’s a lot of smudge and fingerprint marks on the Wiiremote, nunchuck and even the console because its just plain white. Thank goodness, the people at DecalGirl dropped a Robo-B Wii Skin set (USD $22.99) on my doorstep last Monday (15 Oct 2007) via UPS to cover up the dirt.
I tore opened the UPS envelope and out came the Wii skin set. The skin was also in a white envelope which is pretty coincidental and the excellent looking Robo-B console skin comes with matching skins for the classic controller, nunchuck and wiiremote too.

The Nokia 6500 Classic and 6500 Slider comes around
You know the saying its never too late. Looks like Nokia is taking heed of the popularity of slim phones launched by Motorola, Samsung and Sony Ericsson and making slimness a priority in its latest 3G phone launch. I have been eyeing this 2 phones too as my Nokia N95 is making my pants look bulky in the wrong places. The Nokia 6500 rocks in this area where the unified micro-USB connector simplifies charging, audio and data connectivity by consolidating them into a single compact port. Head on out and get them in a few weeks if you like slim 3G (not HSDPA though) phones.
Take note the Nokia 6500 Classic has a 2 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and the 6500 Slider has a 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus, a dual LED flash and 8x digital zoom. So you know I will go for the slider since the camera has a higher resolution.
The specs on my fav 6500 Slider are as follows:
Key Features:
- 3.2 megapixel camera with Carl Zeissoptics, aut focus, dual LED flash and 8x digital zoom
- 3G multimedia: video calls, fast downloading, easy web browsing and videoconferencing
- TV Out function for sharing images and videos
- Built-in applications including Flickr, Adobe Photoshop and PictBridge
- Smooth slide design with elegant stainless stee case, protected against scratches
Additional Features:
- 2.2”16 million color screen
- Front camera for video calls integrated into the earpiece
- Push e-mail with attachments
- Stereo FM radio with RDS
- Music player supporting MP3, MP4, AAC, eAAC+ and WMA
- Support for microSDmemory card up to 4GB

Nokia Beta Labs rolls out Share Online 3
Nokia Beta Labs ( a site that hosts some pretty cool beta sofware for Nokia phones) has recently made available Version 3.0 of its Share Online app for N73 and N95 handsets. Too bad other phones models are not included yet. The software, which is quite similar to Nokia’s Life Blog is essentially a tool for uploading videos , audio and photos to your blog/social networking site directly from your mobile phone. However the apps currently only supports content uploads to Flickr and I’d wish they would include Movable Type or even Wordpress support in the near future as that would pretty rocks things up in the real time blogging segment.
The new version includes the ability to do tagging, manipulate image sizes, change privacy settings as well as comment and subscribing to feeds. So in the meantime, if you want to update on a Wordpress blog from your phone, you should try out Phoneboy’s script as it pretty well works on my personal blog here.

Using the Nokia Software Updater
I’ve downloaded the nokia software updater to put some life into my new Nokia N95 but alas, the firmware was already the new version. I guess I’ll be contented right now and wait for the new one to come out. I also managed to use the GPS function in Kuala Lumpur today to find a restaurant but somehow it did not give me the best route to reach the place. I think I should email Nokia about this new thing I learned.

Magical Laptop USB Cooling Fan
I am a sucker for anything that can keep my laptop cool as I can blogg for hours on end. So when I chanced upon this Magical Laptop USB Cooling Fan, I was hooked with its interesting Pentacle exterior designs that looks a bit too devillish at times. While its weighs in at only 60 grams and has spinning LED light decorations to make people go dizzy, don’t expect this fan to conjour up David Copperfield any time soon.
apparently the “World’s first Patened (sic) NB Air Extracting Fan.” Besides removing all that narc-y hot air slowing down your box, this cooling fan features “Pentacle exterior designs,” which “offer a mysterious touch of the product.” While it does come with spinning LED light decorations, the blood of innocents and your standard wailing portal to the darkest abysses of Stygia are both sold separately.

Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard is fast
Holy Leopard OS! Looks like somebody managed to get copy of the new Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard that’s about the launch this coming Friday, October 26th, 2007. One thing that really catches my eye is that Safari is now “blazing fast!”. Phew, now I’ve really got to see that at the local Apple store. Wonder if Asia will get any chance this month ? More on the comments about this new OS below.
• All my applications and settings were retained
• Time Machine asked me on the first time I started in leopard, which of my five external Hard Drives should be used for backups. I didn’t have to configure anything else
• When I started Mail for the first time, it had to upgrade the mail database. After that, Mail is blazing fast!
• I told Mail to import my RSS Feeds from Safari but that didn’t work!
• Reading RSS in Mail is nice to have
• Tasks in Mail appear even if completed. That might be a bit distracting for some people
• Mail is FAST! Seeing is believing!
• Finder: Well, the first time it ran, it hanged! After killing the process, I was amazed by the speed and coverflow!
• Quick View: COOL - GREAT FEATURE
• Safari is blazing fast!
• .mac has the option to synchronize settings and Dock items
• Stacks: I am not impressed. I like the downloads stack though. I had to manually change the path in Mail and Safari though!
• Spaces: I created 4 Spaces and I find it a very cool feature, especially the live ala expose preview
• Applications start instantly, especially iLife and iWork!
• iCal is much better. There is an inline editor and an event drop box now
• Contacts is more or less the same
• iTunes seems much faster than before

Nokia 6500 slider video
The Nokia 6500 slider (127g) has been having mix review over the net. My friend who saw it in Singapore says its about USD151 cheaper over there than the Malaysian price once conversion is done. The fine stainless steel body casing is pretty neat as you won’t get thumbprints smudges on it and the slider looks like it can withstand an earthquake. Philips shows SPD5130 1TB hard drive with eSATA
I love plenty of storage. The last time I saw a Terabyte storage was last year when I had the chance to review the heavy Maxtor Solutions OneTouch III Turbo (goes in 1 TB or 1.5 TB versions).
Now Philips has up the ante with the nice looking SPD5130 hard drive, equipped with one terabyte of storage and able to connect to a computer using either USB 2.0 or the new eSATA interface. If you have plenty of media files like me, you will appreciate the eSATA interface that goes around six times faster than USB 2.0. No more wasting time and more time to catch a movie date. Goes for £299.99 over in the UK.
The drive will start and shut down with the computer it’s attached to. It has a one-click backup button to safeguard data, and a safe shutdown button to help prevent data loss.

Sell Macs running on Windows
Here is something to really to think about. Adrian Kingsley-Hughes posts an interesting thought stating that Apple should sell Windows-based Macs to take things to a new level. He says this could boost their revenues and beat the other PC sellers like
Hewlett-Packard and Acer’s worldwide shipments.
Personally, I think that would be a disaster. Some people buy Macs just to get away from the norm like Windows and make sure they never even touch Microsoft stuff. If Apple start selling more Windows stuff, the hard core Apple lovers may just jump ship and left Apple in the dust. Gee, all this would be a scary thought right? I’d much prefer seeing Apple coming with more cool stuff instead of following the norm and try to beat Nokia’s launch of Symbian touch sensitive phones next year.
What could/should Apple do to take sales and profits to the next level? Simple. Release an Apple branded Windows-based PC. I know, I know, this kind of talk is bound to upset the hardened Apple fanatic, but it makes perfect sense. One of the things that’s undoubtedly helped boost Mac sales is Boot Camp.

Whirlpool refrigerator with the centralpark hub
I am flabbergasted by this cool Whirlpool brand refrigerator with the centralpark hub. The centralpark™ connection incorporates a plug-and-play platform into the refrigerator door, providing power and support for consumer electronics. The first platform is a CEIVA digital photo frame so you can display thousands of pics on your fridge without one magnet. It is currently on floors at most Best Buys. Expect them to roll out similar products in the next few months.

Samsung SH-S203N Worlds Fastest DVD Recorder
With so many people jumping on the Blu-ray and HD-DVD trend, you’d wonder why they still want to look at DVD recorders. For one thing, the cost ratio is still low when you buy this empty DVD-R to archive your data. So give you more time to play with the kids, Samsung has release the Worlds Fastest DVD Recorder, Samsung SH-S203N that can write DVD+/-R at 20x speed, which is probably as fast as it is going to get with the DVD format. If it goes any faster, you’ll probably get burned pancakes. It also burns DVD-R DL at 12x and DVD+R dual layer media at a new record 16x speed
The complete read/write specifications are as follows;
DVD+R 20X,
DVD+R DL 16X
DVD+RW 8X
DVD-R 20X
DVD-R DL and DVD-RAM at 12X
DVD-RW 6X
DVD-ROM 16X

Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-101 launches
The new Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-101 may not looks as trendy as the Jabra JX10 Bluetooth Headset that I have but its still feather light at 14 grams.
Revealed today at the SEMA Show, the headset is perfectly suitable for those who desire a simple yet elegant mode of communicating handsfree. Talk time is about eight hours, or standy mode goes up to 180 hours. Compact in size, the headset comes with an easily adjustable earloop to make any long conversation comfortable.
The Nokia Bluetooth Headset BH-101 should be out for the Christmas season and will cost an estimated 30 EUR/40 USD, without taxes. The headset has basic call handling functions and supports Bluetooth functions up to version 2.0 with EDR and Handsfree v.1.5 and Headset v.1.1.

Expect $300 Linux Laptops from Everex in 2008
Its nice to see Taiwan PC maker, Everex making PCs affordable to everyone. They have already launched a USD$ 200 Desktop powered with the Linux operating system and selling in Wal-Mart stores in US. The Everex gPC TC2502 comes with a 1.5-gigahertz Via C7-D processor that consumes 2-20W of power, 512 megabytes of memory, an 80-gigabyte hard drive and DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive. Buyers need to pay extra for a monitor. Still its a good deal.
They are also now working on launching a new sub USD $ 300 Linux notebook sometime next year with screen sizes ranging from 12 inch to 17 inch ones. They would run the same gOS based on the Ubuntu Linux distribution. ‘gOS’ means Google Operating System.
